Selluxe Dashboard – Privacy Policy

Selluxe Dashboard (“the App”) provides analytics, store enhancement tools, and dynamic section management (“the Service”) to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, the purposes for processing it, how long we retain it, and how merchants provide consent, in line with Shopify’s requirements.


1. Personal Information the App Collects

When you install the App, we automatically access certain types of information from your Shopify account via the Shopify API.
We clearly inform merchants which personal data is processed and for what purpose, as required by Shopify.

Data accessed via Shopify API

Store information

Store name, store URL, Shopify domain

Store owner contact email
Purpose: app authentication, dashboard display, admin communication


Plan details

Shopify plan type (Basic, Advanced, Plus)
Purpose: feature compatibility and usage entitlement


Theme data

Published theme ID, theme name, editable theme files
Purpose: installing dynamic Selluxe sections and rendering functionality


Orders (read-only analytics access)

Order count, revenue totals, AOV, conversion metrics

No full customer PII is processed unless explicitly requested by Shopify
Purpose: providing revenue analytics, performance dashboards, and insights


Products (read-only)

Titles, handles, images, prices
Purpose: generating dynamic previews, upsell modules, and theme rendering


ScriptTags & Assets

Ability to inject Selluxe sections and required scripts
Purpose: enabling app functionality inside Shopify themes


Information collected independently (outside Shopify API)

Merchant contact information

Name, company, billing address, phone number, email
Purpose: account creation, support, billing communication


Team access data

Team member emails, roles, login timestamps
Purpose: secure authentication and account management


Payment information via Shopify Billing API

Subscription status and invoices

We do not store or process credit card data
Purpose: subscription billing


Usage information

Dashboard interactions, clicks, visited pages, feature usage
Purpose: product improvement, UX optimization, debugging


Store visitor analytics (optional)

Anonymized IP, device type, country, browser
Purpose: performance analytics and conversion tracking


Tracking technologies used

Cookies (persistent login & analytics)

Log files

Web beacons / tags / pixels

Merchants are informed that these tracking systems exist and may decline cookies through browser settings.


2. How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

We only process personal data for clearly defined purposes.
These include:

Providing, maintaining, and improving the Service

Displaying analytics such as revenue, AOV, conversion rate, section performance

Authenticating users and managing access

Communicating product updates, support messages, or billing notifications

Detecting and preventing fraud

Developing new features based on aggregated usage metrics

Sending marketing emails only if explicit opt-in consent is provided

We never sell merchant or customer data.


3. Merchant Consent & Data Processing Agreement (DPA)

(Required by Shopify)

By installing the App, the merchant:

  1. Provides explicit consent for Selluxe to access and process personal data listed in this Privacy Policy.

  2. Agrees to our Merchant Data Processing Agreement (DPA), which governs how we process data on behalf of the merchant.

  3. Confirms that they have the authority to grant Selluxe access to store data through the Shopify API.

4. Sharing of Personal Information

We share personal data only with trusted processors that assist us in delivering the Service:

  • Shopify Inc.

  • Google Cloud / Firebase (secure hosting & authentication)

  • Postmark / SendGrid (transactional emails)

  • Stripe / Shopify Billing API (subscription processing)

  • Google Analytics / similar tools (aggregated analytics)

All third parties operate under strict data-processing agreements and cannot use your data for their own purposes.

We may also share information in response to lawful requests or to protect our legal rights.


5. Behavioural Advertising (if enabled)

We may use limited merchant-level information to show relevant Selluxe educational content or promotions.

You may request:

  • Access to the data we process

  • Correction or deletion

  • Restriction or objection to certain processing

  • Withdrawal of marketing consent

  • Data portability

We rely on contractual necessity and legitimate interest to process data.
Transfers outside the EU follow GDPR-compliant safeguards.

7. Data Retention

(Required update based on Shopify audit)

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined above, and no longer.

  • Data is stored while the App is installed on a Shopify store.

  • After uninstalling, we retain data for up to 90 days for reactivation and support.

  • After the retention period, all personally identifiable information is securely deleted or permanently anonymized unless required by law.

Analytics data may be stored in aggregated, non-identifiable form beyond this period.


8. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
